3 drugs dealers arrested

MUSCAT: The department of inquiries and criminal investigation at Al Seeb police station arrested three people aged between 25 and 27 years on charges of robbery and impersonating a police officer at Al Hail South district in the Wilayat of Al Seeb, a Royal Oman Police (ROP) official said.

In one case, the defendants posted as police officers and assaulted 4 Asian nationals and robbed them of cash. The first accused was arrested and admitted to committing 4 other robbery and identity theft crimes.

The second accused was held from his Al Khoudh house and the third one was arrested in Al Khuwair.

All the defendants have criminal records and they were convicted of similar crimes.

They were remanded to custody for investigation and the crime file has been referred to the Public Prosecution Department, the police official said.

The directorate of inquiries and criminal investigation at the police headquarters in Dhofar Governorate arrested 3 Omani citizens for stealing valuables from cars in Salalah, a Royal Oman Police (ROP) official said.

The Al Saada police station in Salalah has received several reports of stealing valuable items from parked vehicles after breaking the glass.

When interrogated the criminals admitted to committing the crimes. The Directorate for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances at the police

headquarters in Musandam Governorate arrested 3 Omani citizens on charges of drug possession and trafficking, a Royal Oman Police (ROP) official said.

The suspects were held at the Khasab Port while delivering drugs and police seized 41,680 psychotropic tablets, 1 kg of hashish and two plastic bags filled with heroin.
