Minister of State for Investment and Technology Affairs, Adel Afiouni, on Tuesday welcomed in his office at the Ministry British Ambassador to Lebanon, Chris Rampling.
Discussions reportedly touched on the economic situation and cooperation between the two countries, notably in the economic domains, specifically the technology sector.
Minister Afiouni pointed out during the meeting that the economic and financial dossier constitutes a priority for the Lebanese and the government, hoping that the cabinet will convene as soon as possible to launch the next phase of reforms, including structural economic reforms committed by Lebanon at the CEDRE Conference, as well as the 2020 state budget.
Talks also covered the Ministry’s projects in support of the digital transformation of the economy and means of cooperation with the British government in this regard.
Ambassador Rampling, for his part, stressed the substantial need to implement the reforms that Lebanon has pledged at the CEDRE Conference, to reflect positively on the economy and the conditions of the Lebanese.
