Ajman College shocked over MoHE’s decision

MUSCAT: Ajman University for Science and Technology (AUST) expressed shock over the ban by Oman on its students to enrol at the university.

The Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) on Wednesday had stopped enrolment of Omani students in Ajman University for Science and Technology and College of Islamic and Arabic Studies in Dubai. AUST officials

told Observer that “admission rules are standard and unified. We follow them very strictly under supervision of Authority of Academic Accreditation and Scientific Research

in theUAE”.

It assured that curriculum is updated by experts. Officials denied the MoHE’s claim on the quality of its courses saying that they are designed on the basis of international standards. “Field visits are also conducted to evaluate and spot weaknesses in different programmes.”

AUST officials said more than 10,000 students have graduated from the University and 749 students are studying at its Ajman and Fujaira campuses.
