AKKAR ACTIVISTS COMMEMORATE OCTOBER 17TH AT QLAYAAT AIRPORT INTERSECTION

Akkar – Groups of activists from the movement of Akkar governorate organized a gathering today marking the anniversary of the October 17th Uprising, at the Qlaiaat airport intersection in the Akkar Plain.

Delivered words on the occasion emphasized the continuation of the movement “until all the stated goals are achieved by bringing down the system of corruption and punishing the looters of public funds.”

Rawad Antar spoke on behalf of Akkar activists, in which he called for “the release of Kinda al-Khatib,” saying that she was “not an agent, but her file was fabricated which renders her a political detainee.”

Ahmad Taleb spoke on behalf of the “Akkar Forum,” in which he referred to “the deprivation existing in the region, and the rootedness of this authority in its corruption.”

In his word on behalf of “Al-Thawra Bosta Group”, Pierre Khoury highlighted the goals of “breaking down the barriers of sectarianism and regionalism.”
