MUSCAT: Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council, received in his office yesterday Professor Wojciech Nowak, Rector of the Jagiellonian University of Poland, and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, Dr Al Mantheri welcomed the Polish guests, highlighting the visit’s role in strengthening the bilateral historic ties between the two friendly countries. He hailed the exchanged visits among officials of the two countries in enhancing cooperation and opening new avenues of cooperation between them.
On his turn, Prof Nowak and his accompanying delegation expressed their delight to visit the Sultanate, looking forward for further progress, prosperity and growth in the relations of the two friendly countries to contribute in achieving their joint interests in various fields. The guest praised the progress being witnessed by the Sultanate and the modernization march under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.
Meanwhile, the Parliamentary Friendship Committee between the State Council and the Council of State of Poland yesterday held its 7th meeting under the chair of honourable Salim bin Ismail bin Suwaid, Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Committee.
The Committee discussed preparations related to the eight-day visit to Poland as per an invitation from the Senate of Poland to review the parliamentary experience and enhance the parliamentary relations between the State Council and the other counterpart councils in the sisterly and friendly countries.
