BEIJING, The Sudanese Embassy in Beijing has completed all preparations and arrangements for the visit of President Omar al-Bashir to China to participate in the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Co-operation (FOCAC) along with other African heads of state and government on Sept 3 and 4.
Sudan’s Ambassador to China, Ahmed Mahjoub Shaur, says in an interview with the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) that the forum would push forward China-Africa relations to a higher level, enhance strategic consensus between the two sides, inject strong momentum into the development of bilateral relations in China’s new era and draw the course of development of future relations to build a strong society and achieve mutually beneficial co-operation.
Ambassador Shaur added that the forum was aimed at co-ordination of China Belt and Road Initiative, the United Nation 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, the African Union (AU) 2063 Agenda and African development strategies.
He said the holding of the forum coincided with the holding of a meeting of the Sudanese-Chinese Ministerial Committee which would be attended by a Sudanese delegation led by the Minister of Finance and including the Ministers of Oil; and Roads and Bridges and the State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as a technical team headed by the State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which includes the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs; Oil; Minerals; Animal Resources and Agriculture as well as the Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan.
