President of the Republic, Michel Aoun, met this afternoon (Tuesday) at his residence in the Marriott Hotel in the Dead Sea, with the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikhail Bogdanov, in the presence of Foreign Minister, Gebran Bassil.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the general situation in the region and ways to find suitable political solutions. Bilateral relations between Lebanon and Russia were discussed and ways to boost them in all fields. “We discussed political developments in the region, including the Syrian crisis and the Palestinian issue. We are, of course, trying to play the supporting role of the Arab and Lebanese to find appropriate solutions to the crises in the region, especially Syria, Iraq, Libya, Yemen and Palestine,” Bogdanov said following the meeting. “We talked about the distinguished relationship between Lebanon and Russia and we have broad horizons for fruitful cooperation between the two countries in various fields,” he added.
