Arslan renews call to refer Qabershmoun incident to Judicial Council

MP Talal Arslan on Monday renewed call to forward the Qabershmoun case to the Judicial Council, stressing that he’s had enough of initiatives in that respect.

“The previous initiatives have been aborted,” Arslan told a news conference, adding that the first item on the agenda of the next Cabinet session must be that of the Judicial Council.

“We did not invent the Judicial Council. It is the normal side to recourse to when a minister is subjected to an armed ambush,” he explained.

“The ball is not in our court and I am done with initiatives,” he underlined.

“Minister [Saleh] Gharib will not participate in a Cabinet session before discussing Qabreshmoun case,” he said.

Arslan also called for a new security plan in the Mount Lebanon region.
