Minister of Labor Sejaan Azzi convened on Tuesday, in Yerevan, with the Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, over the relations between the two countries and the regional situation.
Armenian Minister told Azzi that Armenia has an interest in the independence and stability of Lebanon which were both difficult to achieve in the absence of a president.
He said that during his upcoming meeting with the Russian Foreign Minister, he will discuss this issue with him.
“Russia also has an interest in Lebanon’s stability,” Nalbandian said.
For his part, Azzi said that “Lebanon looks forward to the effective role of Armenia in regional stability, based on the presence of Armenian Diasporas in the Middle East regions.”
He conveyed to the Armenian Minister the demands of the Lebanese Diaspora in Armenia.
He said that this Diaspora contributed to the development of Lebanon at the commercial, economic and agricultural levels.
“The Lebanese government will work towards strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. The Armenian people are an effective entity in Lebanon at various levels,” he concluded.
