“Strong Lebanon” bloc MP, Gebran Bassil, on Wednesday said on behalf of his parliamentary bloc, that what was mostly required is the formation of a government capable of carrying out reforms.
“We have no demands or conditions; all we seek is success in implementing reforms. We accept everything that others agree upon,” Bassil added, hoping that there will be rotation in the distribution of ministries.
“If everyone agrees over the rotation of ministries, that will be good for Lebanon; however, what is mostly important is that rotation does not happen within the same circle,” Bassil said.
“We presented a document to President Emmanuel Macron, and today the country’s top priority should be financial and economic reforms on; such basis, we must accelerate the formation of the government,” Bassil added. “Priorities are many, and the government’s program must be comprehensive and cover all sectors.”
Moreover, Bassil pointed that Macron’s call for an international conference was an occasion to demonstrate Lebanon’s commitment to reform and the international community’s commitment to help Lebanon.
