House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Tuesday afternoon received at his Ain El Tineh residence Vice Speaker, Elie Ferzli, in the presence of MP Ali Hassan Khalil.
Talks reportedly touched on the country’s general situation and parliamentary affairs.
On emerging, Ferzli said that the visit was an occasion to dwell on most recent developments on the Lebanese scene and its likely impact on the parliamentary arena.
Ferzli underlined that Speaker Berri has always been keen on preserving the supreme national interest in any decision he takes related to the progress of matters at the national level.
Earlier, Berri received the Director General of Civil Defense Brigadier General Raymond Khattar, with whom he discussed the civil defense volunteer dossier.
Berri hailed the efforts made by members and volunteers of this national institution in all times.
The House Speaker also met with the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, with he discussed the conditions of the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.
This afternoon, Berri met with UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jan Kubis, with the general situation and most recent developments featuring high on their talks.
