Speaker of the House, Nabih Berri, met Thursday at his Ain-el-Tineh residence, with UN Deputy Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Najat Rochdi.
During the meeting, Berri reportedly broached the oil spill off the occupied lands that reached Lebanon and caused pollution to shores from the south to Beirut.
He also raised the issue of the Israeli enemy’s repetitive violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty and the abduction of Lebanese shepherds.
Berri highlighted the importance of resuming the indirect maritime border talks between Lebanon and the Israeli enemy.
Moreover, the Speaker urged his host to encourage oil companies whose tenders had been accepted, to start drilling.
Separately, Berri met with Deputy Prime Minister, Caretaker Defense Minister Zeina Akar, over the current general situation and latest political and security developments.
Also, Berri met with Caretaker Minister of Information, Manal Abdel Samad.
