Berri meets ‘Wednesday Gathering’ lawmakers, Satterfield: Our united Lebanese stance preserves our rights

House Speaker, Nabih Berri, said on Wednesday that he was awaiting budget accomplishment by the government to be submitted to parliament.

“Once the budget is approved, this will be followed by positive developments at all levels,” Speaker Berri’s visiting deputies within the framework of “Wednesday Gathering” quoted him as saying.

Quoted by his visiting Lawmakers, Berri said he gave instructions to the Finance Committee to intensify its sessions on the budget to ratify it in a period of one month at the latest.

Regarding his meeting with US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, David Satterfield, over the issue of the demarcation of land and sea borders, visiting Deputies said he deemed the meeting climate as positive and moving in the right track, thanks to the unanimous Lebanese position that preserves the rights of Lebanon in its waters and oil resources.
