House Speaker Nabih Berri received on Monday at Ain Tineh the Canadian MP of Lebanese origin, Ziad Abu Lteif and Canada’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Michael Cameron, with talks touching on the latest developments and the role of the Lebanese community in Canada.
Berri later received the Ambassador of Indonesia Ahmad Khazen Khamidi who handed him an official invitation from the Indonesian House Speaker to visit Indonesia, in a bid to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries and the two Parliaments.
Ambassador Khamidi explained “that this visit would help the two sides exchange experiences and information in parliamentary affairs.”
“There are so many similarities between Indonesia and Lebanon in terms of the political systems based on pluralism and diversity in societies at the religious and cultural levels. We hope that the said visit would contribute to strengthening ties between the two governments,” he said in the wake of the meeting.
Berri has also met the Ambassador of the Czech Republic, Svatopluk Cumba, who came on a farewell visit.
