MUSCAT: Dr Rasheed bin al Safi al Huraibi, Chairman of the Tender Board, officially opened the 12th and biggest edition of Oman’s landmark building, construction and interior design event — The BIG Show (Builders International Gathering) — on Monday at the Oman International Exhibition Centre.
Following the record-breaking 2014 edition last year in terms of exhibitor and visitor numbers, organiser Omanexpo provides an even-bigger and more comprehensive platform that will see product launches for pool and spa segment, the presence of about 300 local and international companies, over 1,000 products and services, and the participation of two of the biggest national pavilions in Oman exhibitions history to date — the China pavilion featuring 25 companies and the India pavilion, featuring 40 companies.
“This year’s edition marks another milestone with more representation from each show segment and a more diverse exhibitor and product profiles. We have recorded a 30 per cent growth in the number of participating companies and exhibition space. Visitors will see clearly segmented product pavilions such as Cement and Concrete, Doors and Windows, Kitchen and Bathroom, Ceramic, Marble and Stone, Interior Design, and Construction Equipment and Tools,” comments Fehmi Ouaja, The BIG Show’s exhibition manager.
“Another significant highlight are the national pavilions of Italy, Germany, Turkey, Iran, China, India and Austria,” he adds. With the construction industry showing more signs of growing and the government investing in major infrastructure projects worth $78 billion, the other vital related sectors such as tourism, real estate and logistics are also in the position to achieve significant growth. The BIG Show is at an advantage to leverage this local and regional growth and provide avenues that are significant to the continuing development of the economy.
The BIG Show will be from March 30 to April 2, from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
