MP Bassem El Chab told Voice of Lebanon radio on Sunday that Iran was handling the presidential election file, adding that it benefits from the presidential vacuum to give Hezbollah the freedom of action in Lebanon.
He pointed out that the tripartite dialogue was very important, because if it failed, a dialogue would be held outside Lebanese territories.
“Said dialogue will provide coverage to an agreement between the various Lebanese parties, without anyone making concessions,” said El Chab.
He indicated that there was no problem in the extension of General Jean Qahwaji’s mandate, especially that the latter’s work was very distinct and preserved the unity of the army.
