Tripoli, An event was staged on Saturday for the launch of the Nida Al Gardabiya party, to joint other political parties in the post-Gaddafi era in Libya.
The event was attended by members of the founding committee, a number of activists and representatives of civil society organisations.
The Leader of the Party Ali Zaidan, a former head of government after the Feb 17 Revolution, said in remarks at the event that the choice of Nida Al Gardabiya ‘Appeal of Gardabiya’ was in honour of the famous battle which Libyans fought against the Italian colonialists in 1915, and which saw men coming from all over Libya to fight together against occupation forces.
The Head of the Party said one of the Party’s objectives, which it will work to realize, was to set up the law and order, institutions, and to protect human rights, achieve sustainable comprehensive development, and to care for education and empowerment of women.
