Fahd receives Iraq Foreign Affairs Minister

MUSCAT: His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, received Iraqi Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ibrahim al Eshaiker al Jaafari, who is currently visiting the Sultanate. The Iraqi guest conveyed the greetings of the leadership in Iraq along with their best wishes of continuous success to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, his Government and the Omani people further progress and prosperity. After welcoming the guest and his accompanying delegation, His Highness Mahmood al Said, reviewed the good bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways of strengthening them.

His Highness expressed the Sultanate’s wishes of further welfare and development for Iraq and its people.

Al Jaafari reviewed the situations in Iraq and the ongoing efforts to maintain security and stability all over the country. Conversation during the meeting dealt with the developments in Iraq and efforts exerted for its reconstruction in addition to touching on a number of issues and developments at the regional and international arenas.

The Iraqi Minister expressed his delight to visit the Sultanate. He appreciated the Sultanate’s constant support for Iraq, as well as the Iraqi side’s satisfaction over the level of relations between the two countries. He praised the wisdom of His Majesty the Sultan in tackling the issues of concern in the region. The meeting was attended by Shaikh Al Fadhl bin Mohammed bin Ahmed al Harthy, Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers and Amal Moosa Alosh, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq accredited to the Sultanate.
