Lebanese Forces leader, Samir Geagea, considered that the revocation of the freshly approved judicial appointments would deal a huge blow to the government, hoping that the Minister of Justice will not take such a measure.
“If Minister Marie-Claude Najm revokes the judicial appointments, this will deal a striking blow to the government,” Geagea told L’Orient Le Jour newspaper.
“I hope that she does not revoke the nominations,” he added. “If she does, this means that there is a side who does not want these nominations, and I believe it is the camp of the President of the Republic,” he said.
Touching on the International Monetary Fund, Geagea highlighted the necessity to provide liquidity for the country, but indicated that his party could not accept all IMF conditions, such as the imposition of new taxes on the Lebanese people.
Pertaining to the relations with Future Movement, Geagea said that ties with former prime minister Saad Hariri were “normal.”
On a different note, the LF leader called the government to declare a state of health emergency amid coronavirus concerns.
