Finance Minister, Ali Hassan Khalil, on Thursday reiterated Lebanon’s attachment to the requests it had voiced during London conference to help the country bear thei weight of the simmering refugee crisis.
“The challenge has reached an extent that Lebanon could no longer tolerate the refugee crisis without the support of the International Society,” the Minister said in an address he gave during the Guidance Committee’s first meeting over a new funding initiative.
Hassan highly valued the existing relations between the World Bank and the Islamic Bank.
“Despite the political crises in Lebanon, I remain committed to endorsing — through the House of Parliament and Council of Ministers — new projects similar to those that have been previously endorsed in agreement with the World Bank,” Hassan said.
