Minister of Public Health, Dr. Hamad Hassan, on Friday chaired a meeting at the Ministry of Public Health in the presence of the technical committee tasked to follow-up procedures and measures facing the novel Coronavirus.
The meeting emphasized the Ministry of Public Health’s keenness to continue to supervise PCR tests that are being conducted at Beirut airport, in addition to the redistribution of PCR kits in government hospitals for optimal use.
For his part, Minister Hassan stressed the need to expedite the the results of the returnees’ PCR tests, “so as to keep them from mixing with others, due to the fact that if infected, they would contribute to a rapid spread of the infection amongst the local community members, as has been the case in recent days.”
Minister Hassan also stepped up calls for intensive Covid-19 examination campaigns, in various Lebanese regions and refugee camps, with the aim of early detection of infected cases.
