The Human Resources Development department at the Association of Banks in Lebanon organized a two-day intensive training session about “Technology Trends and Digital Transformation in the Financial Services Industry” in cooperation with the Banking Control Commission (BCC) and the participation of local experts as well as experts from Microsoft in Hilton Metropolitan Palace, Sin El Fil.
The objective of this training was to enhance participants’ knowledge about e-banking and the challenges they face when implementing banking systems and offering new products and give them the opportunity to discuss international and local best practices in this field as well as regulations set by Banque du Liban (BDL) and BCC concerning this subject.
Mr. Bechara Khachan, Human Resources Development Director at ABL introduced the session. On the first day, experts from Microsoft who came from Hong Kong, Dubai and Morocco delivered 6 presentations. And on the second day, Dr. Andre Gholam, specialist in information systems auditing and security as well as Mr. Nasr El Khoury, IT audit manager at BCC presented the results of the questionnaire sent to banks concerning e-banking issues and explained regulations that govern this new field of the banking industry while focusing on the ways to protect banks from risks. Many case studies were discussed during this training session.
Overall, 34 participants from 18 banks attended this training and one participant from a financial institution.
