Interior Design, Décor & Furniture expo to open on February 17

MUSCAT: Shaikha Ayisha bint Khalfan al Siyabiyah, Chairperson of the Public Authority for Craft Industries, will preside over the formal inauguration of the 2nd IDF Oman 2015 — Interior Design, Décor & Furniture Exhibition at the Oman International Exhibition Centre on February 17, 2015.
Oman’s continuous development in the construction and the real estate sector, has witnessed the launch of numerous commercial, residential & tourism projects, thus creating a demand for interior and outdoor designs, décor and furnishings.

Organised by leading events management firm Al Nimr Expo, the three-day IDF Oman will create a perfect platform for visitors to network with exhibitors showcasing advanced solutions and innovative products and services. The exhibition will feature more than 80 companies, with over 55 international companies from 10 different countries. The main focus will be on accessories, art, bathroom, décor, furniture and furnishings, interior design, kitchen, lightings, luxury life style, surfaces & finishes, textiles and carpets, commercial interiors and fit out, outdoor design & build, vaastu and feng shui.

A special highlight of IDF Oman is the Italian Area & Paragon Arts Pavilion, which will be managed by MEDINIT SRL featuring over 35 Italian companies from diverse interior design sectors. Supporting this activity is Alfardan Motors LLC, which is showcasing the legendary Maserati sports-car to demonstrate Italy’s designing prowess.

The pavilion will showcase a unique opera project, titled ‘Opera, A Living Taste’ which is a cultural space that aims to promote the awareness of the excellence of Italian design and to discover the high quality and charm of ‘made to measure’ made in Italy.

The chosen opera theme will show visitors the colours, music and sounds of this wonderful world and invites them to visit the production companies for the knowledge of craft techniques admired from around the world. Created by Opera Architects Designers, ‘Opera, A Living Taste’ is being presented in collaboration with Fondazione Arena Di Verona.

Paragon Arts is a non-profit educational, social and entertainment CSR initiative created by Paragon International and sponsored by The Wave Muscat. Three lucky visitors will have chances to win fine art paintings by Paragon Arts participating artist while enjoying a plethora of musical tunes played on rarely seen ethnic instruments by American musician Leta and her associate.

IDF Oman 2015 will see more than 80 local and international exhibitors from countries like Austria, Egypt, Iran, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom. The exhibition has been organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Housing.
