Baghdad President of the Federation of Leather and Leather Products Exporters in Turkey Mustafa Shanujak announced that his country’s exports in this sector reached more than 170 countries during the first 9 months of this year, with revenues of about one billion dollars.
According to Turkish Anatolia, Shanujak said that Turkish leather and leather products exports to the countries of the European Union achieved a growth of 3 percent during last September, indicating that Germany topped the list of countries that import the most Turkish leather, followed by Russia, then Italy, Iraq and Spain.
During the same month, the volume of Turkish exports to African countries in the same sector increased by 6 percent.
He pointed out that the leather and leather goods sector earned 989 million dollars from its exports during the period between January and September 2020.
