BEIRUT, Lebanon, The commander of the western sector of UNIFIL, general Bruno Bishota, assured that, Italy is committed to its support for citizens in southern Lebanon, by allocating 1.3 million euros (1.47 million U.S. dollars), local media reported.
The money will be spent for the implementation of services projects for the local community, within the area of operation of the Italian Battalion in the south, Bishota was quoted as saying, by Elnashra, an online newspaper.
His remarks came, during a celebration held to honour heads of municipalities in the western sector in Shamaa.
Bishota said that Italy will exert all possible efforts, to support people in this area.
