Minister of Information Ramzi Jreij received on Wednesday at his ministerial office the Turkish Ambassador to Lebanon, Cagatay Erciyes, with talks touching on general affairs and means to boost bilateral relations.
In the wake of the meeting, Minister Jreij delivered a statement in which he said “the meeting with the Turkish ambassador was serious as we dealt with various aspects of bilateral ties, mainly at the level of economy, business and culture.”
“We also discussed the crisis of Syrian exodus to Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan, and the best means to resolve it,” the Minister said, underlining the importance of consolidating relations, mainly in the economic and tourism fields.
In his turn, the Turkish ambassador said “It was a fruitful and productive meeting with the Information Minister. We have discussed relations and went over the situation in the region. We have also expressed Turkey’s readiness to reinforce cooperation channels between Lebanon and Turkey.”
