Prime Minister, Tammam Salam, met on Friday noon at the Grand Serail with Personal Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Sigrid Kaag.
Kaag stressed the need “to protect Lebanon through a joint mechanism and to avoid further vacancy in its institutions through economic funding and support.”
“This meeting was held before heading to Washington and New York to tackle the security situation in Lebanon and stability with US authorities and Security Council,” Kaag said following the meeting.
Kaag offered condolences to the families of Qaa martyrs and hoped a speedy recovery to the wounded.
She called on the Lebanese to be cautious and united, urging to swiftly elect a president.
