Kahwaji: Work ongoing to uncover fate of kidnapped soldiers

Army chief Jean Kahwaji renewed on Tuesday the “Army’s commitment to resort to all means to uncover the fate of the kidnapped soldiers, held by Daesh, to release them.”

Khawaji hailed the families of the Army martyrs who had sacrificed their souls to protect the nation.

His remarks came on the 16th anniversary of Resistance and Liberation Day.

“You have preserved stability of the southern border. You were keen on implementing resolution 1701 in collaboration with UNIFIL and you have continued to combat terrorism,” Kahwaji said while addressing the Army.

He called on the soldiers to preserve Lebanon in face of risks and to protect democracy and coexistence.
