BEIRUT, Lebanon- The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), handed out on Monday, a number of Iftar (fast-breaking) meals, and relief aid to Syrian refugees, in southern and eastern Lebanon.
This is part of the society’s aid provided to the refugees, during the holy month of Ramadan, that includes food and in-kind assistance, in addition to the projects of bread-distribution and dialysis services, offered throughout the year.
In a statement, head of KRCS’ team, Abdullah Jomaa, said, 300 meals and 300 food packages, as well as, some cleaning materials were distributed to Syrians in Sidon and Zahrani area.
The team also handed out 300 meals and 300 clothes bags for Eid al-Fitr in Beqaa, he added.
The society has been seeking to mitigate, as much as possible, suffering of refugees facing tough conditions, he noted.
Jomaa stressed Kuwait’s keenness on supporting needy people, mainly Arabs, as part of its humanitarian role, on the international level.
He affirmed that the problem of refugees needs concerted efforts by humanitarian institutions and donors, to put an end to the suffering of the Syrian people.
