Lebanon partook in the meeting of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) Board of Governors in Rome, which convened its 43rd session to invest in sustainable food systems with an aim to end hunger by 2030.
The delegation included Lebanese Ambassador to Rome, Mira Daher, Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Louis Lahoud, as well as IFAD Governor in Lebanon and Minister of Agriculture’s Advisor, Magda Mecheik.
The Lebanese delegation held a meeting with IFAD’s Near East, North Africa and Europe Division Director, Khalida Bouzaret, and the Director of “IFAD” in Egypt, Dina Saleh, to discuss several Fund projects in Lebanon, under the guidance of Minister of Agriculture, Abbas Mortada.
Talks also touched on the means to support agriculture and boost the productivity of cattle farmers, especially amid the crucial situation that Lebanon endures.
