Environment Minister Mohammad Machnouk applauded the positions of Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, in terms of pushing Israel to pay its due compensation to Lebanon, worth 856.4 million dollars, for the oil spill on Lebanese shores after the Israeli aggression in July 2006.
Minister Machnouk said cooperation between the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Environment had led to this decision.
On another level, Minister Machnouk met with the Ambassador of Jordan to Lebanon. Discussions focused on bilateral relations, particularly in the ecological field.
