Parliament Speaker deputy Farid Makari pointed out to the presence of “Future” movement in Tripoli, saying there is a certain position from the joint municipal list supported by “Future” movement, Former Prime Minister Najib Mikati, and most of the political parties in the region which compete against the list supported by resigned minister Ashraf Rifi and Former deputy Mousbah Al-Ahdab.
Makari’s words came during an interview to “Voice of Lebanon” radio conducted by the NNA director, Laure Sleiman, and in response to a question about his opinion regarding the presence of the “Future” movement in the province of the North and Akkar.
Responding to a question about his point of view from the electoral alliances in Zghorta, Makari said that Zghorta Kaza, mainly Zghorta city, reflected the biggest alliances in Koura region.
He said the “alliances in Zghorta are based and entangled between politics and development and families; duly, you find some parties of the same political approach competing in different municipal lists.”
Responding to a question whether the municipal elections today in Tripoli would confirm the final divorce between resigned minister Ashraf Rifi and former Prime Minister Saad Hariri, Makari said that “divorce occurred between Hariri and Rifi, but in politics changes take place at all times and nothing prevents that from happening, but today, I think, the divorce has already happened.”
