Interior minister, Nohad Mashnouk, has been closely following up from his ministry – based central operation’ room on preparations for the second phase of Lebanon’s municipal elections due to get underway by tomorrow morning.
Mashnouk’s media office has indicated that the central operations’ room has been seeing to it that electoral modalities are observed with balloting boxes being distributed in Keserwan and Mount Lebanon where elections are due to take place.
The minister instructed the judicial police to crack down on illicit electoral money transactions along with the press assuming a positive role in creating such an atmosphere deemed conducive to a sound electoral process.
Mashnouk’s itinerant program for tomorrow includes direct inspection and monitoring of the electoral process to be followed by a press conference at the ministry for an all-out assessment of the electoral outcome, his media outlet concluded.
