MINISTER OF HEALTH: WE ARE WORKING WITH WORLD BANK TO INCREASE CORONAVIRUS DEPARTMENTS TO RECEIVE INFECTED PRISONERS

Caretaker Minister of Public Health, Hamad Hassan, announced at a press conference this Friday tackling the issue of hospitalizing inmates infected with coronavirus in prisons, that “all the infected persons have been isolated in Roumieh prison, and that they are being dealt with correctly. The model that was applied in Roumieh to counter the coronavirus pandemic is being applied in a number of places.”

 

 

 

He explained that “17 hospitals now receive coronavirus patients, and the World Health Organization is helping us confront the pandemic through coverage with nursing and by providing respirators. We are able to hospitalize 1000 COVID-19 patients.”

 

 

 

“In cooperation with the World Bank, we are working to increase coronavirus departments capable of receiving prisoners,” Hassan added, calling on “university institutions to twin with government hospitals to contribute to the fight against corona.”
