Musical Journey to mark Oman-India ties

To mark 60 years of Omani-India diplomatic ties, Talent Hunters Oman is organising the fourth edition of its popular ‘Musical Journey’, which this time around focuses on the theme of romance. Musical Journey IV is a musical concert featuring Omani and resident expatriates artistes. The event will be held at Al Falaj Hotel, Ruwi, on April 4, 2015.

According to Dr Sanjay Dalal, Found and Director of Talent Hunters Oman, preparations for the concert began in January with the selection of ‘evergreen duets’ of Hindi films. Talented singers have since been hard at work in hopes of delivering an unforgettable evening of music. A number of couples who have completed 50 years of marriage will also be feted on the occasion.

To enliven the event, the performances will be complemented by choreographed dances and video projections, said Dr Sateja Dalal, Coodinator.

“Costumes and hair styling will match the original theme. We have also requested music lovers to come wearing costumes befitting the theme of romance,” she added.

The parade of singers includes Mohammed Rafi al Balushi — runner- up in Muscat Idol 2006, and Jihad al Raisi, finalist at Khafeef Youth Icon 2014, who had recently recorded his own album of Bollywood music.

Also taking part are: Shekar — Muscat Idol 2006 winner; Nishant — Muscat Youth Icon 2014 winner, Akhilesh — Muscat Idol Teen Sensation 2008 runner-up, Megna — Muscat Youth Icon 2014 Singing runner-up, and Muscat Idol finalists Haider Naqvi, Sarfaraz, Aishwarya and Shraddha. Others artistes are Swapna — professional singer and teacher, Vineet — ghazal composer and singer, Rose, Murali, Deepak and Amita.

The show begins at 7 pm, although gates open at 5.30 pm. Entry is by invitation only.
