Nineveh Operations Command: We Will Not Allow Presence Of Any Armed Forces In Sinjar

Mosul The West Nineveh Operations Command confirmed that it would not allow the presence of any armed force in (Sinjar) district, and identified the security forces responsible for protecting the district.

The commander of western Nineveh operations, Major General Jabbar Al-Taie, said in a press statement that: Based on the agreement signed by the federal government with the Kurdistan region, protecting Sinjar district is currently the responsibility of the army, local police and security forces, in coordination with the intelligence service only.

Al-Taie stressed, “No other security forces, armed or unarmed, are allowed to be present or act in the security situation within the district.”
