Director of the National News Agency, Laure Sleiman Saab, received on Thursday President of the World Lebanese Cultural Union (WLCU), Elias Kassab, accompanied by the Union’s Vice President, Fadi Bou Dagher, with talks touching on media issues and affairs of the Lebanese Diaspora in the world.
In the wake of the meeting, Kassab said “I had the honor to meet with the Director of the National News Agency who had always been keen on issues related to the Lebanese Disapora.”
“This visit is a token of appreciation and gratitude for the National News Agency and its Director,” he said.
“Discussions touched on the WLCU conference to be held in Beirut, especially after the latest security events in the country,” said Kassab, stressing that the conference is to confirm before expatriates the steadfastness of the Lebanese people.
“Large numbers of expatriates have come to Lebanon, and we would like to assure the Lebanese, especially those living in border areas, that we are with them against terrorism and that we are in favor of peace and unity,” Kassab said, finally wishing an imminent election of a president of the republic.
The NNA Director met later on with a delegation of the union of photographers presided by union Head, Aziz Taher, who handed Sleiman a shield of appreciation.
Taher said “I had the honor to meet with Director of the National News Agency, Ms. Laure Sleiman, to thank her for the constant care she provides for the union, and for the efforts she exerts in her capacity as Director of the NNA.”
Taher hoped cooperation would be reactivated between the Agency and the union.
“We are willing to assist the Agency in anything that would strengthen its task. We applaud the role of our host in her administration of the Agency, particularly in putting the NNA at equal distance from all the Lebanese. We also command her work in terms of keeping pace with the technological development,” he concluded.
