MUSCAT: Three expatriate construction workers from Gulf Petrochemical Services and Contracting Company were 312350trapped under the debris when the mountain they were cutting collapsed in Qurum at 4.30 pm yesterday.
The workers were engaged in the construction of 40-km-long Muscat water project while they were trapped during the drilling process, it is learnt. At around 10.30 pm, the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulances officials confirmed that one worker was rescued after joint efforts by the authority, National Search and Rescue Team and the ROP. Efforts were on to rescue the remaining workers at the time of going to press.
