PARLIAMENT GENERAL SESSION TO DISCUSS AOUN’S LETTER KICKS OFF AT UNESCO PALACE

The Parliament’s general session devoted to discussing the letter of President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, on the forensic audit, has kicked off at UNESCO Palace under the chairmanship of House Speaker Nabih Berri.

 

Opening up today’s general session, deputies stood a minute of silence in memory of the late MPs Sayed Akl and Mahmoud Tebbo.

 

 

Caretaker Prime Minister, Hassan Diab, did not attend today’s session, while a number of caretaker ministers were present.

 

 

Afterwards, Article 45 of the Parliament’s internal bylaws related to letters addressed by the President of the Republic to the Parliament, was read out.

 

 

Addressing MPs at the session, Speaker Berri hoped that the audit would be comprehensive, including the Central Bank, all state sectors and funds.
