PRESIDENCY INFORMATION OFFICE ISSUES A CLARIFICATION STATEMENT

The Presidency Information Office clarified, in an issued statement today, that “the Directorate of Protocols at the Republic Presidency has nothing to do with the call to the Mass that was held today on the occasion of St. Maroun’s Day, the patron saint of the Maronite community, because said invitations have always been the responsibility of the Maronite Diocese of Beirut.”

The statement added that the Presidency of the Republic has no knowledge, in advance, of the invitees’ names since the occasion is religious and participation in it is usually open to the public.
