President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, headed a meeting attended by Finance Minister, Ghazi Wazny, former Minister Salim Jreisatti, and Director General of the Lebanese Presidency, Dr. Antoine Choucair, today at Baabda Palace.
The meeting was devoted to address the steps to accelerate the agreement with “Alvarez & Marsal” forensic audit company, after the Lebanese Parliament approved the law of suspending bank secrecy for one year.
British Charge D’Affairs:
President Aoun also met the British Embassy’s Charge D’Affairs in Beirut, Dr. Martin Longden, and Deputy head of the British Diplomatic Mission, Mrs. Alison King, in the presence of former Minister, Salim Jreisatti.
Lebanese-British relations were deliberated during the meeting, where President Aoun thanked Britain for providing support for the Lebanese Army and security apparatuses, latest of which was sending armored Jeeps to reinforce the work of Army brigades operating on Lebanese-Syrian borders.
Current economic and social conditions were also addressed, in addition to the Lebanese Government’s work in confronting Corona virus, and the Governmental situation. The President finally wished Dr. Longden success in heading the British diplomatic mission in Lebanon, succeeding Ambassador Chris Rampling.—Presidency Press Office
