The Union of Arab National Olympic Committees (UANOC) have approved a proposal for the formation of Arab Sports Council during their 33rd meeting in Muscat on Wednesday. The UANOC will study and consider Egypt’s bid to host the Arab Games, to establish the annual Arab Sports Capital and decided to support the issue of hijab for Muslim women participating in international competitions. The meeting was presided over by UANOC chief Prince Talal bin Badr bin Saud bin Abdul Aziz. From Oman, Shaikh Saad bin Mohammed al Saadi, Minister of Sports Affairs, Oman Olympic Committee chief Shaikh Khalid bin Mohammed al Zubair and OOC Secretary-General Taha bin Sulaiman al Kishry attended the meeting held at Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa. The UANOC chief lauded the support for sports in the Sultanate.
