Public Works, Water and Energy committee head, MP Mohammad Qabbani welcomed on Wednesday before noon at his parliament office the Turkish Ambassador to Lebanon Cagatay Erciyes, with discussions featuring high on bilateral relations between the two countries as well as the Syrian situation.
Qabbani said after the meeting that “talks focused on two main issues: bilateral relations and the situation in Syria,” pointing out that the Ambassador underscored that Turkey is at an equal distance from all parties in Lebanon and supports Lebanese political dialogues.
The MP added that the Ambassador has been keen on assuring that Turkey supports the return of all the Lebanese refugees from Lebanon to their country and stressed that Turkey supports political solution in Syria.
He added that “Turkey is in a war state with Daesh which it currently considers an imposing danger and enemy,” indicating that Turkey respond to Daesh bombardment to the Turkish towns by bombarding their sites inside Syria; however, the Ambassador denied the presence of any Turkish soldiers over the Syrian territories.
