Readout from the Meeting with Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez and DFC CEO Adam Boehler

WASHINGTON – Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez and members of his cabinet met with U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) CEO Adam Boehler in Washington, D.C. to discuss how DFC can support Honduras in addressing the significant challenges the Honduran people are facing because of the COVID pandemic and two recent, devastating hurricanes, ETA and IOTA.

DFC is exploring projects it can finance in Honduras to help meet the critical needs there, including utilizing DFC’s Rapid Response Facility to support existing projects and providing assistance to small and medium-sized businesses. Additionally, through our close partnership with IDB Invest, DFC will seek opportunities to co-finance projects critical to Honduras’ recovery, with special focus on small and medium businesses, housing, agriculture and sustainable infrastructure projects such as dams and other water management projects

Honduras is a friend and ally of the United States. DFC is committed to using our financing tools to accelerate DFC’s $1 billion commitment to mobilize investments that will lead to a faster, more durable, and more inclusive recovery for Honduras.
