MUSCAT: The State Council on Wednesday approved the proposal submitted by the Social Committee regarding amending the Disabled Care and Rehabilitation Law promulgated vide Royal Decree No 63/2008 and forming a committee to re-draft the draft law while taking into consideration the remarks of the members.
The approval was made at the 8th sitting of the State Council which was held under the chairmanship of Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council.
At the beginning of the session, the chairman of the State Council reviewed the agenda of the meeting and welcomed Dr Rasheed al Talbi al Elmi, Speaker of Morocco and the accompanying delegation during his visit to the council and attending part of the sitting.
While discussing the proposal of the social committee to amend the Disabled Care and Rehabilitation Law, Shaikha al Musalmiyah, Chairperson of the Social Committee, affirmed the keenness of the Sultanate’s government to provide the different forms of care and interest in the Omani citizen, especially the disabled by meeting their needs and compliance with international declarations, charters and conventions.
