The Chaldean Church in Iraq and the world condemns the terrorist bombing in Sadr City

Kirkuk (NINA) – Cardinal Louis Raphael Sacco, Patriarch of the Chaldeans in Iraq and the world, condemned the terrorist bombing that targeted a market in Sadr City, killing and wounding dozens.

Cardinal Sacco said in a statement: “We deplore and denounce the heinous bombing that took place in Sadr City on the eve of Eid al-Adha, which claimed the lives of a number of innocent people, among the martyrs and the wounded.”

He added: “The Chaldean Church prays to the Almighty God to bestow His mercy on the martyrs and to grant their families consolation and solace and a speedy recovery to the wounded.”

Sacco called on everyone to be morally and legally responsible in defending people’s lives and property in light of the difficult circumstances the country is going through and to work as a team in order to create a safe and stable environment that is worthy of the dignity and lives of citizens./ End
