Baghdad Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Nabil Kadhem Abdul-Saheb, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Baghdad, Ali Reza Konay, stressed the importance of developing academic relations between the two countries in accordance with the contexts and mechanisms of bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, which was attended by the Director-General of the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations, the Minister said that Iraqi universities are ready for more mutual coordination in terms of scholarships and fellowships in light of the disciplines required by the two neighboring countries.
He pointed to the keenness of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to formulate well-studied executive programs that achieve more cultural and academic relations, in accordance with the Iraqi-Turkish agreement.
For his part, the Ambassador thanked the Iraqi Ministry of Education for the cooperation and understanding in the cultural, scientific and academic fields, indicating that the Turkish side is interested in coordinating with Iraqi universities and that work is underway to increase scholarships granted to Iraqi students.
