Trump Special Adviser Resigns

Baghdad  A White House official said that Dr. Scott Atlas has resigned from his position as a special advisor to President Donald Trump.

Fox News reported that: The resignation came after four controversial months, during which he repeatedly clashed with other members of the team tasked with dealing with the Coronavirus.

Atlas wrote in a letter to Trump dated December 1: I am writing to you my resignation from my position as special adviser to the President of the United States.

Atlas is considered a government employee with a 130-day mission ending this week.

Atlas is a doctor who specializes in neuroradiology and has faced severe criticism from public health experts, including Anthony Fauci, leader of the United States Infectious Disease Control Team. He has been accused of providing misleading or false information to Trump about the Coronavirus pandemic.

He has repeatedly downplayed the importance of masks to prevent Coronavirus, and this month he said that the decisions to close and general isolate are nothing but a “catastrophic failure” in attempts to prevent the spread of the virus.

His views on dealing with the pandemic have been criticized by his peers at Stanford University Medical School and others.
