Turkish Embassy committed to national mourning on Thursday

The Embassy of Turkey in Beirut issued a statement in which it uttered its commitment to the national mourning day on Thursday, in mourning of Patriarch Cardinal Mar Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir.

“The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Beirut is committed to the national mourning declared by the Lebanese government, flying the Turkish flag at half-staff for two days, and closing its doors on Thursday, May 16, 2019,” the statement read.

“Furthermore, HE the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Lebanon, Hakan Cakil, and the Embassy staff would like to express their deepest condolences and sympathy to the brotherly State of Lebanon, its government and its people, the Maronite community in particular,” the statement added.
