Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros Rahi arrived on Wednesday afternoon at Greek Catholic Archdiocese of Baalbek, whereby he was greeted by Archbishop Elias Rahhal, MP Emile Rahme, and local dignitaries.
“This region is the fence of the nation. We renew our condolences for the families of the victims and wounded who made sacrifices for Lebanon. Terrorism wanted this region to be the door to introduce terror. We bow before our martyrs,” Rahi said during his tour.
“Lebanon is the sole country in the Middle East that is still miraculously steadfast thanks to the will of the Lebanese who want to protect their presence,” he added.
“We are all, especially the Christians, keen on our presence and persistence; and I mean here Christians who are open to all people and all religions,” he concluded.
